Every time i open new tab by clicking '+' sign ffox crashes . It started when i tried to add some more sights in the thumbnails on new tab window . For two days or so it just wouldnt add it but after that it wont even open new tab page (with thumbnails) any more . In all other cases it works normal , opens links in new tabs , all the webpages with no issues , only new tab seems to be a problem . Thou today did happen to crash while i was was on a certain page trying to input some numbers , but it was one time thing (for now ). Been reading all articles , tried to refresh ffox , start in safe mode ... but i dont seem to be able to solve this on my own ... Please advise ...

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the Report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).

  • Click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.

If necessary then you can open about: pages via the location/address bar.

What is the current setting of the new tab page?

You can check the browser.newtab.url pref on the about:config page.

  • the default new tab page with the tiles is about:newtab
  • the default home page is about:home
  • for a blank page you can use about:blank

The browser.newtabpage.enabled pref should be set to true to use the page set via browser.newtab.url as the new tab page.

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
