Why does a warning about outdated and vulnerable Flash 11.0-11.7 disable my Flash 17.0 which is less than two weeks old on a Firefox install only a month old?

I have a brand new hard drive with a new version of Windows 7 that I personally set up just about a month ago. That means the Firefox installtion is newer than that. I just looked at the plugins on the browser from the Tools>Addons menu and it says last updated June 23, 2015. That is only 9 days ago. Let me repeat that. THAT IS ONLY 9 DAYS AGO. How can a 9 day old installation of Flash possibly be flagged as OUTDATED? That is just plain stupid. Furthermore, something is wrong with the error message. When I click on the Upgrade Now link, the first page it takes me to gives the following message : "Flash Player Plugin between 11.0 and 11.7.700.169 (click-to-play) has been blocked for your protection." My version of Flash player, as reported by my Firefox browser, is 17.0.0.190. The number 17 is most definitely not between 11.0 and 11.7. What is going on here? I don't want to have to click "Allow Now" on every page, and I don't want to re-install Flash every 9 days. Also, I would like to see technically correct error messages. Is there anybody that can fix this nonsense?

Adobe Flash Player 18.0.0.194 is the latest version. I don't recall when that version was released, but I just updated to that version last Thursday or Friday. And prior to that it was another Flash 18.0.0 version - iirc, it was .188 .
