loosing whole folders and contents of folders and some duplicating in sync

i have firefox installed on several apple osx and a couple of windows 7 desktops everything worked fine for a while, but recently i have lost whole folders and their contents of bookmarks, other folders have nothing in them although they did originally and other folders have the bookmarks duplicated 2-3 times within the folder other folders have been duplicated????

Do you have another sync service of any kind that are installed on any of the connected devices?

To help with duplicates in the meantime: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-Us/fire.../bookmark-deduplicator/

Make sure they are not just listed twice in the Recent bookmarks and in their folders.
