Hi

I have enabled the Global Search and Indexer in Thunderbird. Sometimes the search results are wrong. (Eg. The results display the wrong sender). I usually solve the problem by deleting the global-messages-db.sqlite file and let Thunderbird re-index the messages. So I tried that solution again today. This time I was prompted for username and password numerous times (1). (Every time Thunderbird tried to "read" one of my encrypted messages). I clicked the Abort button every time. When Thunderbird had finished re-indexing the messages my problem was still there. The db was corrupted. The above mentioned problem might be a bug in Thunderbird. I need to delete all encrypted messages in Thunderbird. My question is: How do I find the encrypted messages?

(1) I my country your private key is stored on a central server. When you need it for signing or decrypting messages you will be prompted for username and password.

You'll have to enter your passphrase to unlock your private key.

I need to delete all encrypted messages in Thunderbird.

Why?

I my country your private key is stored on a central server.

I don't see how this would work assuming we're talking about the same thing, i.e. using Enigmail in connection with GPG.

Hi christ1

Thank you for replying

I don't think the messages are re-indexed correct because I don't enter the username and password when prompted. I don't think Thunderbird should index the content of encrypted messages. That content should not be readable in the search summery.

Deleting the encrypted messages might solve that problem with the wrong search results.

It would have been great if I could search for encrypted messages in some way. I will just have to find the messages manually.
