After having installed a Hamlet smart card reader (HUSCR2), I installed a PKCS#11 module in Firefox in order to be able to access the National Healthcare Smart Card (Carta Nazionale dei Servizi - CNS) using a software by the company Lombardia Informatica.

When I first tried the access, I was requested a password with the prompt:

"Please enter the master password for the CNS."

even if I was just supposed to give the card PIN.

I now would like to reset or eliminate this password, which is something I believe is imposed by Firefox, and has no relation with the PIN, which was established by the healthcare application.

You need to take this up with their support people. All Firefox will do is record the user/password information if you let it.

If you forgot the password, most login pages have a Forgot Password link.
