I selected one profile (out of 7 profiles) and then clicked on the delete profile button, but all profiles were deleted instantly?!

Now i am looking for a way to recover the deleted profiles (i already filed the profiles my own way on a different HD and each year in a different folder.

I tried some recoverysoftware, but still didn't find the folders (or it's content) to be able to recover?!

How are these profiles deleted and where do they go after deleting (not in trash!!)

I found some articles here and by searching more then 4 hours om google, but i did not found a solution

You're unlikely to find a solution. How depends on the file system in use. but when you delete a profile the files on the hard disk are marked deleted and that is the end of it.

These ate the sort of tools you will be looking to use http://lifehacker.com/5237503/five-best-free-data-recovery-tools

But this is not a Thunderbird issue. Undeleting files is an operating system issue.

Thanx Matt!

I already had seen that coming, but StellarPhoenixMacDataRecovery (the recovery software i normally use) did not find the data i was hoping for.

well at least i have a backup from all my mail till oktober so in worst scenario i just have to copy all data form that back-up.

But before that i will give testdisk a try.

If i found positive results i will post them here.
