tried all suggestions to open pocket without success
When I refresh Firefox the "view pocket" is in bookmarks. After working for a short while the View pocket disappears. The only way to get it back is to refresh Firefox again. I have tried all the suggestions, but nothing works except the refresh program. I love "Pocket" and I want it back please. I am using Ubuntu 14.04. I am sure that it used to stay on permanently.
Kind regards, Dave.

Good-day to you, Had a little time and I followed all the sequences as per the instructions. The instructions were pretty easy to follow. The only thing that did not make sense to me was the plug-ins. Most were OK except the one's on the image I attached. In every case the only thing that cleared my fault was the refresh. The "View Pocket" became visible until I had a system restart? I set all plug-ins to "Never activate" but the problem persisted. The only other way I can access the "Pocket" is to save a file. During this process the pocket gives me the option to view the contents. I am using Ubuntu 14.04 but I am sure that it used to work. Sorry to have to come back again. Regards, Dave.

Hello Roanantelope,
Thankfully, Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.
- Use one of these methods to open the Bookmarks Library window:
- Firefox 29 and above: Click the Bookmarks button and select Show All Bookmarks.
- Previous Firefox versions: Click the Firefox button and click on Bookmarks. (If you don't have a Firefox button, click the Bookmarks button or Bookmarks menu item and select Show All Bookmarks.)
- At the top of the Library window, click on Import and Backup and select Restore.
- Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover.
- In the new window that appears, click OK.
- Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored.
For more information, see the Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer article. For other solutions, see the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article.
Hope this solves your problem with Firefox!
Ryan
Hi, I suspect one of your add-ons may be causing the problem. So first try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
If that doesn't help, see under Re-enable Pocket for Firefox in Disable or re-enable Pocket for Firefox. If the button isn't there, click on Restore Defaults while in Customize mode.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you..

Hi Ryan and Scribe, I am very grateful to you both. I am slowly working through your suggestions, but my work is very demanding so I have to go bit at a time. "Nearly there" Dave.

Good-day all, I tried to refresh Firefox with all add-ons disabled. The fault remained on? I then refreshed Firefox normally, the fault cleared. The "View pocket" was in the bookmarks. But once again after I shut down and restarted "View pocket" disappeared. What happens on a refresh that does not happen on a boot-up please? Regards, Dave.
