Since the beginning of November 2016, I have not been able to download my new emails into Thunderbird. There has also been a problem of seeing ALL my emails in webmail (Road Runner). Have talked with Time Warner but my phone calls have been dropped and have no resolution from them. Have there been updates in either Windows 10 or Thunderbird that have caused this problem?

Hello, this has happened to me too and this is how i tried to figure it out. hope it helps,

When I logged into the outlook.com settings for my account I could see that POP had been disabled, and that an IMAP server was specified ie for incoming emails. Longer term, I think I will change my Thunderbird settings from POP to IMAP so that my 'live' account in Thunderbird is fully synchronized with that account on outlook ie the Microsoft web platform. But I figure I need to save a copy of my existing saved folders and contents in Thunderbird, so I don't lose them when synchronization occurs. That'll take a bit of time, so as a short term measure, I just turned POP back on in outlook. My recollection is that IMAP was not available when I started my 'live' account years ago ('live' was virtually the same as 'hotmail') ie before it was reconfigured as outlook.

hope it is helpful. Reuben

See https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com.au/2016/06/hotmail-proxy-errors.html for details on Hotmail and the conversion to Outllook.com

Note that I have the same account configured twice in Thunderbird. Both as a POP account and as an IMAP. You might consider that as you move forward.

See this add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ A great way to export from an account and import again if drag and drop to local folders will not work for you in backing up the pop mail before you delete the pop account.
