TB fails copying messages with attachements to sent folder

Whenever I send a message with an attachment, the sending takes a looong time then I get a message that there was an error copying to send items folder.

Sent Items folder... that sounds like an Outlook.com or exchange server account? What mail provider is it?

It's earthlink webmail. I'm using IMAP. TB was fine when I first started using it about 2 months ago. It seems the latest update broke it. It's unusable now so I switched to Opera. I would like to fix this though since I like TB interface better, I just can't live with this major issue.
