Unable to Save as a Draft and spell check when writing is greyed out.
When typing an email a pop up appears telling that I can not save as a draft.
Spell check when writing is greyed out and Spell check also does not work.

Use the Drafts folder underneath 'Local Folders' instead of Drafts on the server. You can set that in your Account Settings.
I tried that and wrote an email and tried to save it as a Draft, but an error came up saying Unable to Save as a Draft.

Doesn't look like you did. I'd expect to see something like Keep message drafts in - Drafts Folder - on Local Folders
I tried that also and still will not save as a Draft.
What is your account type - POP or IMAP?
What is your anti-virus software?
My account type is POP and my anti-virus software is Avast
