Photos embedded in an email are not being received
This has just recently happened. I like fiddling with colours on the add-ons so may altered something.
I can attach photos but when I embed them, they are not received. I've done various tests like compose, embed a photo, save to Drafts, close down the email then open again in Drafts - the photo is there. But if I send this to a person, or myself, the photo does not appear in the message. So I have to attach photos instead.
This may not be relevant but under Text Encoding (Tools/Options/Display/Advanced) I changed both Outgoing and Incoming Mail to Unicode (UTF-8) - is this correct please or should I have left it alone?
Also, I've re-started in Safe Mode and disabled the Add-Ons and I still have the same problem.

Please check: Are you sending the emails in both HTML and Plain Text?
'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' >'Composition' > 'General' tab click on 'Send Options' button. Select the drop down option 'Send message in both plain text and HTML' click on OK Click on OK

What were you using before you changed it? I'm in the UK and I use 'Western(ISO-8859-1)' for both.
Please check the process used when inserting an image.
- Insert > Image
- click on 'choose file' , locate and click on open
- select: 'attach this image to the message' (this must be selected)
- after making any other selections on various tabs
- click on OK
Toad-Hall,
You are magic!!! Now why could I not have found that on the internet? - I've been searching for ages.
Thanks!!
I'm now looking at the Unicode question...............
I'm doing your test using "Attach" - "Image" and have double-clicked on a photo (I don't normally do this as I tend to drag and drop).
Then I get the following message........
If the image is relevant to the content of the document, you must supply alternate text that will appear in text-only browsers, and that will appear in other browsers when an image is loading or when image loading is disabled
But that works tooooooo
I can't remember what it said before but one was Unicode and the other was something else. I'm in France - do you know what they should say?
Thanks again!!
