How do I allow flash to work on certain websites, as in your older versions I could set flash to work on certain websites, for example BBC?

I just started using Firefox 57.0, Firefox Quantum. I was trying to look at a video on the BBC website. It said that I needed ti enable Flash.

It looks like I can only enable for all web sites. I was unable to solve this as I was able to do for past versions.

Can this still be done. If so, how?

Thank you.

On the left side of the page, select Plugins. Make sure the ones you want to use are set to Ask. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Go to the web page. Once the page is loading, mouse to the address bar and Left-click the icon. Select Permissions. In the menu, Make sure the ones you want to use are set to Ask or Allow.

This article has additional information on using the Plugin Notification icon to allow Flash on the current site: Why do I have to click to activate plugins?

If the icon doesn't appear, you could try the Permissions panel of the Page Info dialog. Either:

  • right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Permissions
  • (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info > Permissions
  • click the padlock or "i" icon to the left of the site address, then the ">" icon, then More Information > Permissions

Flash permission should be at the top of the panel. There's no Save button, the changes made here are saved as you go and you can close the dialog after making the necessary change. You might need to reload the page if it already gave up on using Flash so it can redetect Flash support.
