Cannot read text in window panes

I've read all the articles here about the text size issue, and trying to re-install the addon to allow me to control pane text size does not work on my W10 install. The text in the main window panes is so small I have a great deal of difficulty reading it.

When the add on was working, the text size was good. When the add on was deprecated, the text size became so small as to be almost illegible, and it's a serious problem for me, and obviously, many others.

Is there nothing I can do to increase the pane text size except move to another email client that offers pane text size options?

How does the installation of the add-on "not work"? I tested both fixed versions of the add-on here in Windows 10 Home with no difficulties.

The old version will not work, and the new version, when I attempt to install it, gets an error message "This add on not available in your platform" and the install button will not work.

Running latest version of W10 home, and T'bird version 52.5.2 (32 bit).
