When I download a .txt file Firefox opens and previews the file by default. I cannot find a way to change the default download action for this particular file type. Most of the time I want to save the downloaded file, not preview it. Using Windows 10, Firefox 59.0.2 (64-bit). Note: Options/Downloads/Applications does not list .txt and there does not appear to be a way to add to the list except by attempting to download a new file type. What I need is a way to add .txt to this list.

Site that is having problem is password protected, but application is from https://www.ptc.com/en/products/plm/plm-products/windchill.

Since you asked, I found a generic source for .txt files at: http://www.sample-videos.com/download-sample-text-file.php

Upon selecting one of these .txt files to download - viola! Firefox performs as expected. Firefox added .txt application and now I can select download preference. So, the issue is in the Windchill based web application, not Firefox browser. Unfortunately, my root issue is unresolved, but now I will address it to Windchill tech support. Thanks for your help.
