Hi Everyone, I added Alexander Bergman's Mail-Merge Add-On some considerable time ago and found it very easy to use and quite reliable.

Today I attempted another mail-merge, but this time it didn't work.

The message template was automatically saved in the appropriate folder after "sending", so some part of the process worked, but no "Send Later" messages in the Outbox or anywhere else.

I have checked the data, (only two columns involved, each with a field name at the head) and I have saved it in nearly every format imaginable to try and eliminate any data errors. (.csv out of Excel., .txt following copy and paste out of Excel, Word and Notepad)

I even imported the 34 items of data into Thunderbird's Address Book and tried to mail-merge using the book, but to no avail.

I have also tried varying the Text and Field delimiters during the merge, as well as most other things that offer options.

Can anyone help with this please?

I am on the latest version of FireFox and have just updated to the latest version of TB. Mail-merge is version 4.12.0 which, I believe, is the latest version. My machine is running Win7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1

Thank you,

Ian

To Anyone who might also have experienced this problem ---- It was an "Operator/User Malfunction" ------- ME.

Make sure, when typing {{Field Names}}, particularly the one in the "To" box, that the capitalisation and spelling matches exactly that of the column heading in the CSV or TXT file being used. I had a capitalised "Email" column in the CSV file, but used all lower case in the "To" field.

Yes, the obvious thought, but so too was the option of sharing the problem with others, some of whom may have experienced the same problem, particularly in view of the plethora of variables which might be involved. (Windows, Excel, Word etc.,) Any solutions or recommendations coming from other sources will be shared on this forum in the same way too.

Can you tell us exactly which is "the latest version of TB"? Just today, mine updated to TB 52.9.0.

Hi Zenos, I too updated today and got the same version number as you display.

I have just come back from the Authors website where I saw a warning that the Add-On is not compatible with FF Quantum, so that might be the cause of the problem.

I am just about to email him and will post his reply as soon as.
