how do I get the favorites properties box back to what it was before the latest update

more options

I have saved the information that was in my bookmarks properties as an html so the descriptions are now saved.

Why don't you just put the descriptions field back into firefox favorites properties. People use this field. Why would you feel compelled to remove it? Please just PUT IT BACK!!!!!

How do I contact the one who decides to make these rediculous decisions.

Hi, there is no such thing in Firefox as Favourites.

Good, thing you exported. Please see the answer in this question : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1232448

Sorry, but that Description field in Bookmarks > Properties is gone for good, it won't be "returning" to where it has been for the last 10 years.

Here are the options I'm aware of:

(1) Export your Bookmarks, including Descriptions, to a web page you can use to access the information. See: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks.

If you don't edit your Descriptions often, this would be simplest.

(2) Transfer your Bookmarks, including Descriptions, to another program where you can more easily access and update the information.

There might be an Add-on that could help, but more likely it would be a research or note-taking program. I posted an example in this thread: Where is my info now?

(3) Switch from the regular Firefox release to the Extended Support Release of Firefox 60 to keep Descriptions for about another year.

The "ESR" track has stable functionality for nearly a year, with just critical security updates. Then it will jump 7 or 8 versions at the next major update. ESR was designed for business, but you could use it if you like. Please see the following article for more information: Switch to Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) for personal use.
