Hi there.

We are all currently running all of our business email accounts through Thunderbird. We have noticed that when emails are arriving they are arriving into the inbox already opened. This is very inconvenient as things are getting missed.

How can we change this?

This can happen if the accounts are IMAP and are being read on other computers, phones etc. Is this possible?

Yes - we all have our emails active on our phones to.

How do we resolve this so that each device does not impact the others?

Can we format emails in another way than IMAP?

I don't think you want to use POP instead of IMAP. Just be aware that if you read (or delete) a message on one device, it's marked as read (or deleted) when the account is viewed on another device. That's how IMAP synchronization works. If mail is being overlooked because, e.g., it's being read first on a phone before being viewed on the office desktop, consider moving high-priority mail to a separate IMAP folder when it's first read, so it gets attention on the other devices. Tagging messages would accomplish the same thing, except they aren't supported by all mail servers.
