Need help accessing our e mails on thunderbird
We have 5 e mail addresses on thunderbird ,installed and maintained by a 3rd party. along with our website and which are vital to our business. For the past 5 days this guy has gone missing and we are unable to access them. Is there any way we can access these without input from this 3rd party please?

We may have found the passwords, but the e mails have just come back up, so was it you or is it a co-incidence?

Do you have passwords for these e-mails?
Unfortunately not

Thunderbird is email client software running on YOUR computer. So there is no YOU at Thunderbird fix anything. I suggest you look at your business email model. It sounds like it needs some improvement or at least expand your knowledge of how it works if your business depends on email.
You can Google email client software vs email provider for a start.
I'm sorry but I think you misunderstood, I have NO computer knowledge , hence I employed someone like yourself to run my computer and e mail, this person has now disappeared, causing me to reach out to the person(company) at the header of all of my e mails.
Contact your email provider. They provide your email service.
Who is this company at the header of your emails?
Sorry, perhaps not a header , but the Thunderbird logo. John
Just to get this straight...
You pay someone to manage your "vital email" and they do not seem to support you.
You download free Thunderbird email client software and you think it can overcome the shortfalls of your paid consultant?
Your email service is provided by an email provider. Email sent to you or that you send comes and goes via their servers. Most providers that are worth having maintain a webmail page where you can use an Internet browser to access and manage your email.
Email client software like the Thunderbird run on your local computer and help you manage your email without going to the providers webmail site.
All your email must be on the providers server before Thunderbird can download or display the messages.
Thunderbird was created by Mozilla. About 4 years ago the nonprofit Mozilla was going to abandon Thunderbird. A volunteer group called the Thunderbird Council took over the project to keep it going. This forum is staffed by Thunderbird users that volunteer their time to answer questions about how Thunderbird works. There is no Thunderbird company. There are no Thunderbird offices. This forum is not here to make up for the shortcomings of your paid consultants.
If you have specific questions about Thunderbird, please ask.
There is a definite misunderstanding but it is not by me

My question was posed, because my paid consultant had disappeared and I have no knowledge of computer /e mail workings, to me it is just magic. I was merely reaching out for help to forum for guidance in how to re access my e mails, I fully understand that it is me that is that misunderstands all things electronic, so I apologise if you somehow thought I had insulted you or your forum. Best wishes for the future.
Hi pick117, I'm sorry about Airmail's behaviour. From reading this thread, it looks you have already solved the issue. Is that correct?
Thanks Chris, yes it has been re instated or whatever it is that happens, unfortunately I was brought up with an abacus and slide rule and find all things electronic amazing. My phone has visited the wall a number of times as it does things without asking. Still I can still fix my car. Best John
Great! I'll mark this thread as solved, and lock it to prevent any more arguing.
