Trying to download Thunderbird onto a MacBook Air 2018, but after each download attempt, it tells me that the Thunderbird disc is broken and has to be ejected.
Thunderbird seems to download ok but when I try to open it, I am told that the disc is broken , that it cannot be verified, and therefore it is not usable.

There is no opportunity to download apps from anywhere even. though I'm using os Mojave 10.14.3
there is no opportunity to download apps from any where but only from Apple and from identified developers.I'm using os Mojave 10.14.3
