Comments do not load on Newsbusters, etc

more options

I have a problem that seems to be limited to one group of sites. When I load a "story" on Newsbusters.org, CNS News, etc, it used to be that comments from Disqus on that story also loaded. The site seems to no longer even load or try to load these comments sections in Firefox. I just checked with Chrome, and it looks like it always did with comments from Disqus loaded below the story.

I've used Disqus comments on my personal website for a long time and I can't say I've had anyone have this issue before. I've also tried the site that you've provided and I don't have any issues loading comments.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Click the Library button 57 library icon and choose History.
(Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose History in older Firefox versions.)
  2. In the History menu, choose "Clear Recent History...".
  3. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  4. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  5. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  6. Now click the "Clear Now" button.

Further information can be found in the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox article.

Thanks you for your prompt and thorough response.

I solved it, but not the way you suggest. Apparently, there is a setting in security and privacy that when set to "block trackers" to strict will not allow Disqus to load on that site (and other MRC sites). I checked others, and it did allow it to load on at least another one.

It may be the way that they load. I have it now set to "Only when Firefox is set to block known trackers" and that seems to take care of it.

I am not sure if Mozilla changed the default or if I changed the setting somehow, but at least "so far, so good"

A lot of those content blocking settings were redesigned by the Mozilla developers a few versions ago, so they may have just changed on their own with your last update.

Glad to hear that you got everything working though.
