How can I autocomplete whole URLs rather than simply site URLs?

I'd like for Firefox's address bar to behave similarly to Chrome's where if I type just a few characters of the URL it autocompletes the entire url and not just the base site. Say for example a Reddit sub: If I want to go to /r/FantasyFootball in Chrome all I have to do is type 're' & since reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball is bookmarked Chrome will complete the entire URL. This does not happen in Firefox, regardless of whether I have it bookmarked or not. It only goes to 'reddit.com' and I have to type the rest of the URL from there.

I want to switch to Firefox 100% of the time but this is a deal breaker for me. Chrome's autocomplete is streets ahead of Firefox's & I'm hopeful there's a way to close this gap.

Hi Devin, as far as know, the in-URL-bar autofill feature is limited to top level site addresses. You're not the first person to suggest changing that, but I don't know whether it's going to happen.

You can set Firefox to show history/bookmark matches above search engine suggestions so that you can type re, press Down Arrow, then press Enter. It's an extra step, I know. (On the Options page, Search panel, uncheck the box to show search engine suggestions above other matches.)

Or if you want to create a keyword for your bookmark so that re is recognized as a unique bookmark, that's another option. If you right-click your bookmark on the menu/toolbar/sidebar and click Properties, you'll see the keyword field there. I'm attaching an example screenshot of where you set that and what Firefox shows in the address bar drop-down when you type the keyword.

(Oops, the screenshot also shows how I customized the drop-down layout. That's not essential to the way keywords work.)

Maybe disable the browsing history for suggestions and only leave the bookmarks.
