When I click on an email address in a browser tab I want it to link to Yahoo directly instead of Microsoft Mail. How do I do that?

more options

I want to be able to use email address links in a browser window by just clicking on them and have them go to the yahoo tab I already have open. Instead, Microsoft opens its Mail app and I have to login separately even though I already have a yahoo window open and logged in. Currently I have to copy the email address and go to my yahoo tab and start an email message there. It's not the worst thing to have to do, but if I could just click on the address and have it automatically open up my yahoo mail that would be more convenient.

If you go into the Firefox preferences page and scroll down to the Applications section, this is where you would change that setting. What you want to change is the default program for mailto (which is the type of links for email addresses). I believe Yahoo Mail is one of the few web mail services that Firefox supports out-of-the-box, so you should be able to select it there.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. Just an update, there is no "preferences" in the menu, but I found the Applications section under "options". I made the change and now it is working perfectly.

Thanks!

Sorry about that! On some operating systems it's call "options" and on others it's call "preferences". I can never remember which is which.

Glad you got it figured out and working!
