I am totally frustrated at this new issue with firefox that just started a couple of days ago. When I click on the firefox icon on my bottom taskbar, firefox loads with all my tabs, but only with a very small window, I can't get it bigger. When i hit f11 to go full screen, I can see all my top tabs, but the bottom task bar disappears. The little boxes in the top right to maximize screen are there, but when I hit that icon, firefox shrinks and those boxes to maximize the screen disappear. If I right click when in the small window, there is no option to maximize. I have restarted several times, did not work. I have most recent version of firefox and windows 10, which I use on my laptop. This is a firefox problem, as it does not happen in chrome, but I prefer firefox as my default browser. I have now spent 3 hours trying all the fixes on the support web site, but it seems I have a choice to either see firefox full screen without bottom taskbar or in a small box that is useless for me. I also had the problem of the top tabs disappearing, but I seem to have fixed that. I really need help! I could not even get a good screen shot when firefox is just the little box. I don't know if it is related, but my icons on my desktop also disappeared, but that is probably a windows problem. Thank you for any help you can give me.

It sounds like you need to maximize the Firefox window. That can be done by pressing the maximize button on Windows 10. That button is located in the top-right corner of the Firefox window. There should be three buttons there, the maximize button is the middle one to the left of the close button.

Alternatively, in Windows 10, you should also be able to use window snapping to maximize the Firefox window. This can be done by dragging the Firefox window to the top edge of the screen and then releasing the mouse button. Make sure to drag the Firefox window but the empty space on the tab bar.

Hope this helps.

I semi-fixed it by using the menu button at the top right and opened a new window. Bottom task bar was there, so I just closed the other Firefox I had open. However, in the new window, the only icon at the top right is the x - the minimize/maximize box is not there, nor is the minimize underline. I do not know what the second recommendation means or how to do that.

You can possibly try to rename/remove xulstore.json in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed (this file stores window dimensions and positions).

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
