browser cache
hi gurus, i have set the browser as private mode and disable both the browser.cache.memory and browser.cache.disk. However I discover there is a folder created under C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\mozilla-temp-files after watching streaming video. Inside the folder, there is a file created with name "mozilla-temp-41".
Can i seek your instrcution how not to create this mozilla temp files folder and the mozilla temp 41 file in the first place please as i thought i have disabled all the cache already?
thank very mcuh

That isn't what Firefox refers to as the web cache.
I found a reference to this folder in older threads --
-- but not a way to completely avoid use of the folder.
In the past, some users have created a new environment variable, using a batch file, to point Firefox to a different temp folder location. I haven't tried that myself. Here's an example thread from another site:
[SOLVED] Force Folder "mozilla-temp-files" to a Ramdisk? • mozillaZine Forums
Thank you so much for your kind answer. Could you please educate me further as i thought by setting browser.cache.memory and browser.cache.disk as false, then all cache function of Firefox are disabled and no more cache file will be stored. However that seems not be the case as you said "that isn't what Firefox refers to as the web cache"?
further, after reading the past threads, is my understanding correct that there is no way to not to create the temp folder and the files? If my objective is not to "remember" any video streamed, is there any other way i can achieve that on firefox?
Thanks so much again.
You could test watching videos in a private window and see whether that avoids the temp files.
Hello, many thanks for your kid advice again. I have tried to watch video in a private window but that doesn't solve the problem...
