What are your settings? The recommended ones are: smtphm.sympatico.ca on 587, STARTTLS, authentication = normal password, User Name = email address. If you have those, what are the antivirus mail scan settings? Timeouts are often caused by AV scanning outgoing mail. The TB profile folder should be excluded in AV settings.
