I assume this is a new mail notification. The trouble is I have the taskbar set to autohide to give me a little more screen area, and when the glowing red icon appears it causes the taskbar to pop up and obscure part of what I am working on until I attend to it. I prefer to check my email on my schedule rather than it demanding my attention. In any case, I've disabled all the notification settings in Options and yet still she glows. Is there a way to make it stop? Thanks!

What's your TB version? The taskbar notification is built into TB 89beta, or provided by an add-on in TB 78.

78.8.1. I am not running any addons. Thanks!

Not sure what is glowing, as I don't see any change in the taskbar icon when new mail arrives, even in safe mode (TB 78.10/W10). Can you post a screenshot? It could be due to something like a Windows setting for taskbar transparency.

I'll capture one the next time it happens. I hadn't thought about possibly Windows being the issue.

So it may or may not be associated with new mail. That's hard to discern. But here is a screenshot. I just got home, woke my computer, and this is what I saw. There is no information associated with it. Hovering over it doesn't produce any. I don't honestly know why it is happening but it started doing this after a recent update.

Again, I don't see a change, with W10 20H2, with the default Windows mode Dark and the default app mode Light.

You don't see that red halo around it? That's what other apps do when they are trying to get my attention.

I know the kind of indicator you mean, but I don't see it with TB, and I don't think I have any special settings. It doesn't matter if TB is the foreground or background window. Maybe it's connected to some Windows setting for the taskbar or a theme setting.

There was a topic about notifications that might suggest something, like toggling the preference mail.imap.use_status_for_biff.
