Onion links and sites do not open in firefox 78.12.0esr, 64bit for FreeBSD (compile-time settings here freshports.org/www/firefox) I tried to set variables in about:config, but it's no longer works: network.dns.blockDotOnion = false network.proxy.socks_remote_dns = true network.proxy.socks = 127.0.0.1 (tor service enabled on local machine) network.proxy.socks_port = 9050 (same port specified in torrc)

Also enabled proxy in Preferences -> Network settings -> Manual proxy configuration Note that sites on a regular network are opened through a tor proxy and determine the ip address from the tor subnet, checked on check.torproject.org, but still *.onion links do not open.

I also want to note that the last time I used firefox for a long time. In November 2020, onion pages were opened and there were no problems. it is possible that the problem appeared after updating firefox. I will complete the question as soon as I know which version I used 9 months ago

Are you using a proxy? Is this with all websites/pages, some, a few?


Make sure you are not blocking content.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
