Starting recently my FF(v102 &103) is not able to play certain videos anymore. The space for the video is on the page as are the control elements, play/pause, quality, volume, etc, all fully functional. Just the video isn't starting. They do for a while after a restart but inevitably will stop doing so after an hour of use. I havn't been able to figure out what destroys the capability to play videos, but I narrowed it down to certain types. As far as I can tell its MP4 videos in general while on Youtube its AVC1 videos that are not playing. VP9s and ogvs work fine even after the video capability of the browser has been lost. I'Ve check in about:conifg and everything is set to true in terms of media.*

It fails across the board, not on a specific video/url. I can say that non of the reddit clips work and some youtube videos are affected too. For the later the ones that dont work have avc1 listed as their codec in stats for nerds, while the ones that work past failure are vp9. No luck with private mode either once the failure ocurrs.

michkov, sorry I don't have a solution, just wished to say that I too have been having problems with Youtube videos recently.

In the last two weeks or so, I have been finding more and more videos that won't play, there is just an endless spinning loading symbol. But then those same videos will play in Edge (or at least the ones I tried there did).

Again, no solution but I suspect Firefox needs to update something in order to keep up with some change Youtube has recently made?

I figured it out, kinda. Looks like when Intel GPU driver crashes Firefox cant recover from that and just refuses to play any videos. Easy workaround for now is to disable hardware acceleration in the settings. I did that and had no issues over two days where I would ususlly had 4-5 of them each day. I'll go back to hardware acceleration once the next integer version is out.
