Mail merge not working TB 102 and Mail Merge 9.2.0

Windows 10. Thunderbird 102 Mail Merge add-on 9.2.0 I installed Mail merge add-on, enabled it.

Before, one pressed File..Mail Merge and a dialog box appeared. (See attached image.) Now, it's Tools...Mail Merge, or Toolbar button, but instead of Mail Merge dialogue box, despite filling in the relevant fields, I get an error box stating "No recipients were specified. Please enter a recipient or newsgroup in the message area." (See attached image.)

Have tried restarting Thunderbird, uninstalling add-on and reinstalling. no change.

I used the old version successfully many times before. Has anyone any idea what is wrong here?

more options

support for mail merge is offered by the author of the addon and there is a link on the addons page. I suggest you direct your issue there. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/mail-merge/
