After an update in the last six month, my gmail address book stopped loading into Thunderbird (or accessing it, however that works.) Address book continues to work fine on my Android phone. Everything else in Thunderbird is as it used to be, just that I don't have the address book.

I suggest you update to Version 102. Then you will be talking about the same version as everyone here is using.

the problem is that you probably need to reauthenticate the addressbook. click to add a new addressbook and then click the carddav option and sign in to gmail.

Can you be more specific. I'm running 91.13.0

I don't find anywhere that I can "click to add a new addressbook." I can add "new contact" or "new list". I have found I can add another account with an addressbook, but there is no "carddav" option where I can sign in to gmail.

I'm sure this is the solution, but I don't understand the specific steps. Thanks for helping me out.

All I can do is show you the menu in 102, as I don't have release 91. It's attached here.

My addressbook is always a pop-up, without the option for a new addressbook.

Would you please post a screenshot of what you see when you click the Address book? That may help.

This is what I see. Under "Properties" the only menu item is the name of the specific addressbook, nothing else.
