Thunderbird email times out the first time of sending, but works fine when I press send the second time
Hi, For about a month I have been having an issue with Thunderbird. When I press send on a message (any message) eventually I get an error message saying "The sending of the message failed. "
If I press ok, and go back to the same message and press send, it goes immediately.
This happens on my account, and my husbands as well (different computers).
I haven't changed any settings at all.
Any ideas?

Do you have an anti virus product scanning outgoing mails that has to "wake up" when you click send.

Do you have an anti virus product scanning outgoing mails that has to "wake up" when you click send.
I use Avast, and when checking through the detailed settings, it does scan outgoing messages. I've turned this off and sending messages works fine first time.
