My wife and I have five Yahoo mail accounts between us and we only use the Firefox browser. We used to get on log-om IDs and passwords saved thru Firefox and we didn't have to re-enter our ID info. Now, every time we sign-out of Firefox, we have to re-enter the ID and password each time. Is this a Yahoo Mail or Firefox issue?

Thanks

I have the same problem with Mac OS X 10.5.8. When I log onto My MSN and Gmail I have to put in the username and password, which I did not have to do before

  • Make sure that you not run Firefox in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode
  • In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and features like visited links are disabled and not showing
  • You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing", possibly grayed

See Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Issues_related_to_Private_Browsing

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox? If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

I have this same problem.

Here's what SEEMS to have solved it.

First, clear your cache and every cookie associated with Yahoo mail. (yahoo.com or www.yahoo.com)

Second, I found that the next time I closed the browser, despite apparent success, I was back to square one. I had to again clear cache and get rid of the cookies.

I can't say I found an elegant solution at that point or why this was happening---but this time I simply refused to close the browser for awhile. And then suddenly everything was ok. Or seems to be. We'll see if the problem reoccurs. My theory is that continued use overwrote whatever was causing the problem.
