When I try and search my history in my library, there are no results. I can click on the today, this week, etc. folders and all of the history is there.
The history itself is saved. Also, it will let me search my bookmarks without any problems. Does this mean that the "places" folder is damaged? If not, what can i do to fix this problem

To check that you can try if renaming or moving places.sqlite makes it work properly.
