how do i turn off scrolling line by line?
i used to be able to use the arrow keys on my keyboard to smoothly scroll through webpages. Now when I use the up or down arrow keys, it causes the page I am on to jump either to the top of the page or the bottom of the page. How can I reverse this and go back to smooth scrolling using these keys?

You may be in Caret Browsing Mode. F7 is the on/off key for that mode. Tap F7 once, and try scrolling. See:

Although possibly not related to your problem, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. On top of this, it has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at getfirefox.com.
