No printers listed in Linux Firefox 3.0.19 although about:config has both printers
I reinstalled my linux box recently, and now that I'm trying to print a web page in Firefox, I have no printers listed in the printer dialogue. I use the CUPS system, and both printers Canon and PDF-writers are shown under other Linux apps, but not under Firefox.
Nonetheless, printers are present in the about:config dialogue, I can find keys such as print.printer_CUPS-PDF.print_bgcolor but also others like print.tmp.printerfeatures.CANONPIP3000.paper.1.is_inch and print.tmp.printerfeatures.CUPS-PDF.can_change_num_copies
just to mention a few. The strange thing is some settings appear under a "tmp" section.
I've seeked the forums, but none of the problems there match mine, nor solutions solve my problem.
What can I do to add the printers to Firefox?
I assume this is not a Linux/KDE problem, as other applications correctly detect the printers.

I have the problem in Firefox 3.6.10 on Fedora 13. I can print from Thunderbird and other apps, but not Firefox, as none of the printers show up in the print dialog.
If you have the 64bit version of Fedora, you could try installing the libgtk+2.0 package. This is how I solved it. Although my Firefox version is/was 3.0.19.
Apparently as Firefox is built under 32bit, it requires some 32bit libraries.
Hope this helps.

This problem is occurring in 3.6.12 also.
I suppose it's the same problem. Are you using a 64bit OS?
Same problem on version 3.1.6 on Debian Lenny amd64 (x64, 64bit).
The same problem is in Firefox 5.0 and Thunderbird 3.1.10 on x86_64.
