I downloaded myheritage.com software which automatically and without my consent changed my default browser from firefox to it's own. I changed the default back but I still can not connect to internet with firefox. The openning tab is labelled (Untitled) and clicking on further tabs produces the same. Also, none of the features - search etc work, all lead to same blank, contentless (Untitled) tab Updating firefox has had no effect

Thanks cor-el, I downloaded MalwareBytes and discovered 8 of the little monsters! Since removing and re-installing, firefox now seems to work perfectly. Thanks again for the trouble you took, N

No that didn't help- the myheritage.com still comes up as my search browser- running the malbites did not show any malicious cookies- I also downloaded REvo uninstaller and that didn't work. I deleted any cookies from my heritage.com but I still have it in my toolbar

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
