error: proxy server is refusing connections?? Tried to change the proxy but it doesn't help....HELP!!
I installed Firefox 3.6..again!!..and today I get this error message: Error..proxy server is refusing connections. I tried the troubleshooting and tried changing the proxy but that didn't help at all....anyone have a really great idea!?

Does the "No proxy" setting stay if you close the Options window or close and restart Firefox?
This may be caused by malware. There's some malware running around that changed Firefox's proxy setting to be its proxy site (and overloaded you with spam) but that proxy has since been taken down (I think) resulting in all sorts of errors.
