Trying to install Firefox 4 on my aluminum MacBook, and I get the following error message:

"The operation can’t be completed because the item “toolkit.jar” is in use."

I shut down all other programs, emptied my trash, still the same message.

  • Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install.
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded.
