I filled out at least 2 requests for help on this issue from this site and was directed to a page wanting me to confirm my post but they still have never sent me an email to confirm my post. What is going on?

Mozilla doesn't send emails. If an individual user said he would do that, then that's between you and him, but it wouldn't be official.

What do you mean by the "red button"? Do you mean the orange oblong Firefox button visible in the bottom half of the screenshot?

If so, then right click a blank part of the Tab Bar and click "Menu Bar" in the menu at the top to disable it.
