FF version 3.6.17, Foxy Proxy standard, windows xp os. If I am running private browsing using Foxy Proxy Standard, does it prevent my isp being able to track the pages I visit?

There is no way to prevent your ISP from knowing which websites you visit. Private Browsing doesn't do it and the proxy kicks in beyond your connection to your ISP.
That is only possible if you would connect to that proxy via a secure htps connection.
