I have the usual issue of an old-bitmap version of Helvetica that creates strange characters on a website. However, this is where my problem differs. I've deleted the problematic version of Helvetica off my font folder, but it still exists on my computer. If I go to Microsoft Word, for example, the typeface still exists (it's a Truetype font). I can't find it anywhere though. Even by zooming out, the font still appears very strange (not at all like Helvetica is -- I have a good copy of it as Helvetica Lt Std, but that's an Opentype font). I don't know how to fix this problem! At this point, I've tried other browsers and it's an issue on all browsers (although I first saw it on Firefox, my main browser). I've had this problem for over a year now. As it is one of my favourite fonts, I do not want to remove it, either.
