how long do browsing and download history remain without removal
I have not been removing my browsing history since I downloaded Firefox, ergo I have a bunch. I can only remove up to one day, so that won't take out much. Is there a way of clearing all of the Browsing and Download history...or will it eventually go away if I don't use it

No, it won't go away unless you remove it.
For the downloads you can click the "Clear List" button in the Download Manager (Firefox > Downloads or Tools > Downloads)
