How do I get a bookmark onto the strip above the tab bar? That strip now has: most visited, latest headlines, google maps, wikipedia, news, popular, youtube, and it used to have my gmail inbox which has disappeared from the strip as of 9/16/11. How do I put it back on that strip?

Copy or move that bookmark to the Bookmarks Toolbar folder in the Library or click the blue star (if the star is faded then click once to bookmark the Gmail site) on the location bar to edit the bookmark and choose that folder.

cor-el- sorry- answer is not idiot proof. not able to accomplish anything. I can neither add nor remove anything on bookmarks toolbar. there are several drop down lists of bookmarks in several places and I am not able to copy, click or drag anything anywhere where it will stick. clicking star adds bookmark to several lists of bookmarks with menus which offer several choices which do not result in either adding or removing bookmark to or from visible bookmark toolbar. since I'm using a slightly reduced in size operating window, there is a bookmark I would just as soon remove from toolbar in order to leave email inbox up there. what folder? only operating in this environment a short while- what you describe does not seem to be what I'm seeing. please give it another shot.

Thanks

Did you try to to drag them to the Bookmarks Toolbar folder in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) or Bookmarks sidebar if you can't drag them directly?
