I had 2 app tabs pinned, Yahoo Mail and Facebook. Both were gone earlier today so I re-pinned them both and exited after browsing, shut down, started PC after 2 hours and the app tabs were gone again. I shut down every night so I am hoping that this isn't going to be a consistent issue from now on.

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data [1] in the file sessionstore.js [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].

Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

It is also possible to use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting, that is usually a more reliable way to restore session data.

Solved it this way: 1. Re-pinned all apps. 2. Exited Mozilla. 3. Went back into Mozilla. 4. Exited again. 5. Continued to do this several times, checking for the app tabs each time. 6. Shut down computer. 7. Booted computer. 8. Went into Mozilla. App tabs still existed. After Re-pinning had to exit Mozilla and re-enter to have App tabs hold. If I shut down and booted the computer, the app tabs were gone. Your suggested settings for solution were all set appropriately and did not effect this problem. If the app tabs disappear again, I will follow the above steps as they seemed to work.
