Sometimes the tabs do not return when I open Firefox

Rarely, but often enough to really P me off, the tabs do not return when I open a new browser session. I keep about 6-10 tabs open always that I switch between often. Sometimes, when I close the browser then open it again later, the tabs are gone. I do not receive the Restore Previous Session button at startup and the Restore Previous Session menu item in History is greyed out. I have to start over finding and re-opening all my tabs. It would really, really, really be helpful if there was a menu option that functioned much like the Windows Restore Point, where I could manually save a restore point. Then, when this anomaly recurred, I could manually and happily restore all of my tabs.

Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting is a more reliable way to restore session data.

Thanks...that option is already set correctly. Firefox saves my tabs about 99% of the time, but, sometimes, it closes without saving them. That is my entire concern. I wish I could just set a "restore point" where I could force firefox to manually save my tab layout to a special place, then, if need be, I could always manually restore my tab layout in those weird instances when Firefox forgets to. That would be great. I also wish I could discover what I am doing wrong to make Firefox forget to save my tabs sometimes!

Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox.

Also make sure that Firefox close properly and all plugin-container processes close as well.

Thanks very much for your suggestions. Firefox has only hung up on me a very few times, and when it did, it always gave me the option to restore previous session when it reopened. History settings are also correct and I never clear the history manually. When the problem I am describing happens, nothing is ever out of the ordinary...Firefox closes like always but in those very few instances, it just forgets to save the tabs. Everything else is the same as always. I can close Firefox 200 times and in one or two of those closings, it will simply not save the tabs. Maybe I am closing too many programs too quickly, or maybe I am shutting the computer down too quickly after I close Firefox...I have no idea. All I know is that Firefox closes, and the next time I open it, all the tabs are gone.
