Can a netbook with 1 gb RAM handle Firefox Mozilla 8.0.? ?

My netbook is a MSI U100 model , bought in 2009. It runs Windows XP & currently has Mozilla Firefox 3.6.24

CPUProcessor Type Socket 478 

 Support Processor Intel® Diamondville processor (45 nm)

L2 Cache 512KB, FSB Speed Support 533 MHz

Memory Technology DDR2 667/ 800 Memory DDR2 SDRAM , Maximum 2GB------------but it only has 1Gig RAM.

Yes, obtain latest at http://www.mozilla.com

When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts. When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).
