Firefox is loaded on my computer but when I click to open, nothing happens. When I try to re-install it, I get a message that Firefox is open and needs to be closed down. I tried going to Task Manager and it does not show that Firefox is open???
I cannot open Firefox . I click and nothing happens. I get the swirl and then nothing It is definitely installed. There is nothing wrong with my internet connection because I can launch AOL and Internet Explorer This all occurred when I upgraded to 8.0.1 from Firefox site.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
