Firefox may be causing a reboot, as it has happened several times, and each time I am browsing using Firefox. Was 9.0.1. Just upgraded to 10.0.1 a few minutes ago in the hope that this may fix the problem with Firefox (if there is one) before I thought to ask a question, but rebooted again. No crash ID available. XP Pro SP3, Intel MB, dual core Intel, etc. Troubleshooting info below is from current 10.0.1. System simply goes dark and reboots; Firefox returns to pages that previously displayed. Last happening Firefox was only application running, had just rebooted and was filling out this report.

Hey dldpjd91,

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

There is also a lot of useful stuff in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) Knowledge Base article. If you've recently upgraded, you might want to check out this article as well.

Hopefully this helps!

Hi Matt, Good info. Since I recently upgraded the NVIDIA graphics driver, I am first trying turning off hardware acceleration (always suspect the last maintenance activity when troubleshooting a problem). I'll report back. Thanks.
