Firefox states that my 'Java Applet Plug-in" is not up to date. Where's the update?

The webplugin check from firefox states that 'Java Applet Plug-in" is not up to date.

According to Java Tester I have version 1.6.0_29

According to BrowserSpy I have version 1.6.0_24

Firefox Add-on Tab says I have 'Java Applet Plug-in' version 14.0.3

Oracle.com says the latest version is Version 7 Update 3

Java.com says the latest version is Version 6 Update 31

Furthermore Java.com says updates will be automatically download through 'Apple Software Update' but it shows no sign of an update.

How can I fix this?
