I updated my Firefox Browser v 13 to v 14. However, after this my history got deleted without my deleting it. So I had to manually type each letter of my favourite sites.

But this problem keeps recurring. For example, I might visit gmail.com many times to appear on my most visited list; but after some time, the history will get deleted, and once again I will have to reenter each word of my site.

Always use Private browsing mode isn't selected.

If Clear history when Firefox closes is visible and selected, Browsing History under Settings shouldn't be selected.

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application.
